FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
By Alan Scholz Cofounder and CEO.

The first thing we always strive for at Bike Friday® is to really listen to you, our customers. The second thing we would like to do is be able to talk to you in a way that is meaningful, inspirational and informative.

Our customers are, by and large, the successful adults of the world who have chosen the bicycle for adult reasons. You are us, and I know our reasons for being cyclists are good in the way the US Constitution is good. They are both about the emancipation of the human animal. Perhaps flawed in some ways but two of the best, most successful approaches so far.

We know, as cyclists, that The Bicycle is one of the best things ever invented by humans because of its personal effect on the condition of its human partner and the world around them. It is unfortunate that it is being promoted most by its advocates for its lack of negative effects, or as a toy. I believe its suitability to the human scale reality of each day is more valuable than just its ability to be fun or cause little congestion or pollution. In selling and advertising we in the bicycle industry have the opportunity to promote and advocate for the bicycle in its real and positive aspects also: emancipation, relationship, physical freedom and health that builds a sense of empowerment. And one close to my heart: simplicity with human scale.

None of these are hardware but you need good, appropriate, fitted hardware to fully partake.

That is Bike Friday's® challenge and cause.

Best in Cycling
